In our church one of our responsibilities is being the finance committee. At that point, we get to decide who will chair the committee, who has the best ideas for the committee, and what kind of budget we can reach if we go over our budget limit. We can also tell if any of our expenses are over our budget limit and if we are on track to meet that budget.
This is a typical financial committee situation. A lot of things can and do fall under the umbrella of “financial,” so this is a good time to mention that. While we’re at it, we should also talk about the importance of the finance committee itself, because a church finance committee can be a lot of work.
While we would have a great time talking about all the things we could talk about it would be a bit tedious, so let’s jump straight to budget. First of all, we have a budget limit. The budget limit is how much money we actually have to put into the church. As we are in a time crunch, we can reach that limit by making sure everything we have is accounted for.
The budget limit is a good number to use because it gives us the ability to set a baseline for our finances. This can help us plan for contingencies and emergency situations. We can also set a budget limit for our annual budget. This should give us the ability to determine what we need to put into the church over and above what we think we will ever be able to afford. In general, the more we have to put into a church, the more it will be able to run efficiently.
The church committee that’s responsible for finances has a lot of responsibilities. Including the ability to set a budget limit as well as budget our yearly budget. I think this is a good thing because it allows us to plan and be more prepared for emergencies and contingencies. We have a budget limit to make sure that we don’t run out of funds before we get into an emergency like an earthquake or a fire or something. We also have a budget limit to help us plan our annual budget.
The budget limit is a nice touch because I think it gives the committee responsible for budgeting a sense of urgency. It also gives us a way to plan for contingencies and emergencies and what to do if we run out of money. This is another example of a good use of meta-cognition because when a committee or committee gets too overwhelmed with their duties, they can look at themselves and say, “Whoa, I’m an overworked committee.
I was also reminded of that last week when a committee member commented on my blog that they are going to send me a check for $10,000 because they need it to run an ad campaign for a new product. My response to that is, I think it is pretty obvious that the person wants to give me $10,000 because that would be very useful. I also think that my ad campaign is a great use of meta-cognition because I know I am being watched.
Another meta-cognition is that my committee is probably watching me. I’m wondering whether this committee member is one of those who is really watching me, or whether they have a different name for themselves and this is just a different way of thinking about themselves.
My guess is that you are the one that is being watched, and this committee member is just another part of the surveillance system. What I think that person is really watching is my bank account, which is a little confusing because I have bills coming in from a lot of different financial institutions. I believe this is a good time to introduce myself to this committee member, but I also wonder whether that person could be watching me just as easily from another angle.
This is what I think the committee member is watching. Of course, I also think they are watching you and that they have a few things planned for when you least expect them. It’s not that you don’t deserve to be watched, but I think the committee member is planning to be there for you.
