I mentioned optical technology and the holograms that use it a bit earlier, but you probably already know that some of the best known optical illusions that use this technology are the ones from the movie Jurassic Park. These aren’t just optical illusions, but actual real-life optical illusions that have been scientifically created.
There is an extensive list of optical illusions on Wikipedia, but the ones that we will be investigating are those that are real. It’s easy to find these optical illusions on YouTube and other sites, so I’ll just quote one here. It’s one of the most famous ones from the movie, the “Tilt-table illusion.” This is a three-dimensional illusion that is created by rotating an object in a certain way and tilting the object.

I would argue that this is one of the most visually interesting illusions ever. As a rule of thumb, if something looks like an optical illusion, it probably is. The trick is that most optical illusions are based on the very simple concept of a triangle. However, the Tilt-table illusion uses the very complicated concept of a square.
So basically, the Tilt-table illusion is based on the simple idea of a square being tilted. In other words, it’s just a square that’s tilted, but it’s not actually a square. This means that, as it gets tilted, it appears to be a square, but it’s really a twisted square.
