The goal of health promotion efforts, in general, is to improve the health and well-being of its participants. It should be understood that the purpose of health promotion efforts is to improve the health and well-being of the community, not the individual.

A health promotion effort is designed to improve the health status of its participants (e.g., the participants of a health promotion program are the intended beneficiaries) and not any individual people or organizations in the community.

This is a personal goal as well, but it does involve a big focus on the community, the community-wide health-promotion efforts, and how the community is managed. I can’t see any reason why the community health-promotion efforts should be targeted at the communities they host.

The goal for most of the community is to have the health-promotion efforts focused on the people who are most likely to benefit from it. That’s why I say “it” when I say “we”. You can get to know your health better if you have a doctor and an intern in your local hospital, but that doesn’t mean you can just get to know your body better.
