In today’s world, business processes are more complex than ever.
That’s right, they are.
In order to run a business, a person must have a plan, be able to think in certain directions, and be able to communicate with various departments. For example, in a grocery store you may need to stock groceries and you want to be able to pull this off. What you don’t necessarily want is a store that has no plan, no direction, and no ability to communicate.
This is a common theme we have found in marketing analysis. A lot of different departments need to work together to run a business. The same goes for any kind of a business. No business is perfect. It does take a bit of time to get it just right. But once you do, you can build on it and make it better.

Many businesses, in particular, are just not built for this. It is not that they don’t have a plan, because they do. It is that they don’t have any way to communicate with each other or with the outside world. They don’t have a way to communicate with customers who may not have a great understanding of the product or service.
It is the same thing with any business which is built for a cross-functional team. In order to make sure that they are doing their job, they need to have a way to coordinate everything. In the end, a cross-functional team will be the best way to ensure success.

This is why I think the term “cross-functional business” can be used with great accuracy. When you set up a cross-functional team you can work together to ensure that you are doing your jobs properly. You do not have to have a rigid hierarchical structure, but you do need to make sure that you coordinate.
The cross-functional team is an essential tool to the successful running of a business. I see so many businesses that are not able to build up any cross-functional team.
